What is the difference between S3 and S4 sounds?
The S3 and S4 heart sounds are both low pitch heart sounds heard in diastole. They differ when they are heard in diastole, S3 being heard early in diastole while S4 is heard later in diastole. The loud S1 is due primarily to greater excursion of the leaflets during closure, since elevated left atrial pressure has kept the leaflets relatively wide apart. In addition, stiff, noncompliant leaflets and chordae tendineae appear to resonate with increased amplitude.S1 is a high-pitched sound caused by the closing of the mitral and tricuspid valves just after the beginning of systole. S2 is a low-pitched sound caused by the closing of the aortic (A2) and pulmonic (P2) valves at the beginning of diastole.
What causes the S3 sound?
The s3 heart sound occurs as the mitral valve — which sits between the left atrium and left ventricle — opens and allows blood to fill the left ventricle passively. The sound happens due to blood striking the left ventricle during early diastole. The third and fourth heart sound (s3 and s4) are two abnormal heart sound components which are proved to be indicators of heart failure during diastolic period.
Is the S3 or S5 faster?
In terms of performance, the S5 is the faster of the two models, with a more powerful engine and quicker acceleration. However, the S3 is still a very capable car, it offers a more agile and nimble driving experience, which makes it better suited for city driving and tight corners. Compared to other used Audi cars in the range, the S3 strikes an excellent balance between performance and everyday usability. Absolutely love my S3. The performance is incredible but it’s so civilised for daily use.Is the 2016 Audi S3 reliable after 100,000 miles? Yes, but only if major services were completed on schedule. The DSG transmission, Haldex system, and water pump/timing chain assembly must be serviced or replaced around 60k and 100k miles. Without documentation, reliability drops significantly.
