In 2018 the team signed a title sponsorship agreement with Alfa Romeo, and Sauber raced as Alfa Romeo Racing and later as Alfa Romeo F1 Team until 2023. The team was purchased by Audi AG in 2024 with the intention of transforming Sauber into Audi’s manufacturer entry for 2026.
